I have loved this book since I was a child--the clever rhymes, the way Burgess uses his little Goops as the fall guys for bad behavior--I loved it as a kid. Showing children etiquette in an entertaining fashion is timeless. As a grown-up, I loved spotting the charming anachronisms: don't toss your [fruit] peelings on the coal; keep barrel hoops and broken glass off the street to save a horse`s hooves, etc. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was because it didn't have the adorable illustrations!Product details

This is a great classic that is still relevant for kids of a certain age ( I think maybe younger than 10 or 12). Wish our political leaders had read when they were young. For this edition, I thought the cover and print quality could have been a little better. It's great to have.

This book reminds me of a book my grandmother used to read to us about good manners and behavior. A classic.
We just adore these little ditties. I find them so useful for reminding my littles of good manners.
I love this book. Parents will get a kick out of it while your children will not...LOL...because they will see they are being goops!! I give this 5 stars and had to share with my friends as well so we could all get a laugh out of it.
Poor quality ebook. Pages have words split, and layout is horrible to read through. No pictures included. Not easy to read.
I ordered 3 copies of this, Two good conditions and an excellent condition. . I have both of the have yet to receive the book deemed to be in "excellent condition." The books that were listed as being in "Good Condition" were in really nice condition and I'm very happy with them. I gave one away as a gift and the recipient was thrilled. I grew up with the Goops and she didn't. We are both Goop fans now!
